I'm happy that the Bay area folks are getting their shows, but I have to admit this country girl is very grateful to have 4 shows out in the clean, wide open spaces where herb is legal, the highways aren't 8 lanes and the views are beautiful everywhere!!

The way I understand it, is it has now been legalized completely and recreationally for tourists as well.

This was not the case just a few months ago for the Denver run. We should be able to just walk right into a shop and buy anything we want.

I'm hoping a local could shed some light on this for me?

I guess from what I've read that it was passed shortly after we left CO, and isn't going to apply until jan 2014?

Oh well.

All I know is when going into Broomfield, if you emptied your pockets and were openly holding onto a bag the security folks still just said "why, come on in!". I like that in a venue/state!!

State legislature just (last week) passed a sweeping regulatory framework to enact Amendment 64...Governor says he will sign. The basics are these:

1. Businesses will be able to apply for licenses starting Oct. 1st.

2. Initially, medical marijuana dispensaries will have a 9 month monopoly on recreational sales (supposedly due to their already having met state regs for that industry)

3. It looks as though public over the counter recreational sales will be available starting Jan. 1st 2014.

So, until that time, make friends with a red card (registered med marijuana patient) holder. You can legally smoke in private locations, although technically still illegal in public venues.

Big Question Mark and Caveat: What will Obama administration response be to the state regulatory system?

I should probably book my plane tickets soon...

Which is a fun thought!

Might end up staying in a hotel instead of with family, again, so I'm going to call that marriot.

Decided to book a room at the Marriott, whoo-eeh is it expensive.

It was going to be 800 for a standard room for five nights, or 950 for their biggest suite.

I went ahead and booked it, but I'm probably going to shop around

NGA...you might want to take a look at the Hampton Inn in Golden. Looks like you can get in there for about mid to upper $600 range.

It is not that far from the Marriott and is actually a bit closer to RR.
